Trees are a natural restorative. They reduce blood pressure and induce calmness. Look at a tree for 3-4 minutes and you’ll feel that positive effect. Even a tree lined street in a busy city has been proven to calm the very active minds of those with ADHD. The studies, undertaken in Leipzig Germany, show that the greater the time spent in leafy enclaves the lower the levels of a biochemical stress indicator, cortisol. The data showcased that those living within 100 metres of a tree – of any species – experienced higher levels of happiness. If you have outdoor space, take that online class outside. Better yet, join a class in one of the urban oases. Let’s go!
