Hey Sarah!

Sarah:
Hey BUA!
We’re so pleased to have you as one of our fitness partners. How did you get into fitness?
In
2013 I lost the father of my children in a way which could have been prevented
with a healthier lifestyle. This triggered me to lead a healthier
lifestyle myself including of course getting into fitness! I realised that I
had lots of transferable skills from a life in retail and decided to pursue a
career in fitness. I gained my first qualification in 2016.
Good for you. Do you only do group classes?
No!
I split my time between running group classes, and doing private personal
training sessions. I really love them both equally, and I make sure that I have
time to do both!
It sounds like you had a busy 2016, getting qualified…
I
did! I was trying to juggle a full time office job in the retail sector as well
as launch my fitness career by gaining my Level 2 ETM qualification. I
followed this up with a whole host of qualiifications including Level 3
PT, as well as focusing on qualifying in exercise programming for many
areas of women's fitness including menstrual cycle tracking, pre and post natal
and peri menopause and post menopause.
As
well as focusing on women, I’m qualified in Rebounding, TRX, Barre, and quite a
few other areas.
What drives you to help others?
I
love helping people, especially women! I want to use my experiences from
my journey to help other people succeed in their lives.
What’s is your favourite thing about helping people live a healthier lifestyle?
It
is when people tell me their individual experiences of how it has improved
their life for the better, you can't beat that!
If you were to improve something about the wellness industry, what would it be and why?
Although it is improving now, there is still quite a lot of
focus on body image as the driving force behind much of the marketing.
How has BUA helped you get to where you are today?
It
has provided my clients with a cool and easy to use booking platform to access
my classes, as well as helping me appear higher up in relevant Google searches.
What do you do in your spare time?
With
what little spare time I have, I love playing netball, practicing yoga and
walking my dog!
Sounds hectic - thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Sarah!
It was lovely chatting!
