Help! I want to give up.

We’ve all been there. It’s a struggle to get out of bed. To pull on our workout gear. To get to the fitness class. To make conversation. To partake without wanting to quit.

And some days we don’t even get as far as pulling on our sports bra. It’s just the way it is.
But what can we do when we feel like giving up? How do we motivate ourselves to pull through, and keep going?
Pain is temporary
You can form a habit in a relatively short period of time. 30 days to be precise. Your workout will take an hour - in the grand scheme of things, that’s nothing. You might not want to go. You may be worried about failure. But the only failure that’s a certainty is that of things you didn’t even attempt.
Take this moment of pain, and uncertainty with a pinch of salt. Let the endorphins flow, and give your body and your mind a chance at peace and strength
Don’t go to sleep with regret
Have
you ever regretted a workout you did? At the time it hurts. You’re
sore, tired, and can’t think of anything more enticing than a cold beer
and your warm bed. But there is never regret at the exercise you’ve
allowed yourself to smash.
If it was easy, it may not seem like
it was worth doing. Like it would really help us, and make us better. We
want toned arms, a flat stomach, and a peachy bum, but we won’t ever
get there if we quit before we’ve even started.
You don’t get the final results without the grind that comes with it.
A balancing act
Every day we make choices. We may have limited time, and we prioritise, without putting much thought into it. Every single day.
Right
now you don’t feel motivated enough to perform your workout. But by
flicking the switch in your head, and spending this moment in a way
that’ll make you proud, rather than frustrated or annoyed at yourself,
you’ve levelled out the balance beam, and given yourself a reason to be
filled with pride,
You’ve got this! As always, stay fit and healthy.
